Your expert stylist will give you personalized lead-time guidance once you join us for an appointment, but if you have yet to come in or if you want to be sure to stay on track, please reference the checklist below!

9-12 Months Before Your Wedding: The Dress Hunt Begins

This is the sweet spot for saying "Yes!" to the dress. Seriously, there's no such thing as shopping too early, but there is such a thing as shopping too late! Custom gowns take time to create, so getting a jump start is key.

Decide on your dress budget! Keep in mind that this number shouldn't include accessories and alterations - those are separate line items to factor in later.

Shop for and buy your dress. Once you find the one, don't look back!

6-9 Months Before Your Wedding: Mom's Moment & Finishing Touches

With your dress secured, it's time to focus on the VIPs and the details that complete your look.

Book your Mother of the Wedding Appointment. Moms tend to wait to shop, as other wedding tasks can take priority, but we want to make sure she has her first choice in style & color!
Order Mother of the Wedding dress(es) to ensure a comfortable shipping timeframe, and leaving room for alterations.
Book your Finishing Touches appointment. This is the fun part! We have everything you need here to complete your look! As a #realMDbride, you receive at least 10% off your wedding wardrobe and accessories at MD. We offer these dedicated accessory appointments so that you have time to try different veil styles, headpieces, and jewelry with your dress, or shop our collection of Little White Dresses, too!
Shop for and buy your accessories. They can take up to 4 months to order and you will need them for your alterations, so it's a good idea to make sure everything is here when you come to pick up.

Plan Gown Aftercare! Eliminate a post-wedding to-do by planning and paying for your gown preservation before the big day. You, or a loved one, can drop your dress off for aftercare when you return your Suit & Tux rentals after the wedding!

Bonus Pro-Tip: Aftercare for a Lifetime

Your wedding day look will last a lifetime when you opt for gown aftercare. Cleaning and preserving your wedding dress shortly after your wedding ensures that stains don't set in, and that your most special piece of apparel doesn't discolor or deteriorate over time. Drop your dress off for aftercare when you return your Suit & Tux rentals after the wedding!
