It’s not often that we get involved in styled shoots- we’re usually so busy with just the day-to-day running of the store, that we don’t often have time. BUT, when Autumn Nomad presented her idea for a dark, moody Alice-in-Wonderland themed shoot, we couldn’t resist. Unlike the typical bridal styled shoots full of soft pastels and smiling brides, this shoot was a complete departure from the expected bridal styled shoot.

We were thrilled to have not one, but TWO of our bridal gowns featured by the most gorgeous model and we think you’ll agree when you see the photos by Cody James Barry Photography below that this was a shoot to remember. It was dark, moody and full of unique details. The shoot was staged in a large mill space that the vendors involved completely transformed into a magical, moody, ethereal wonderland.

Autumn Nomad was the creative mind behind this entire shoot. She made not one, not two, but THREE different cakes as well as an assortment of delicate treats for the shoot. This masterpiece featured sugar lace and flowers and we think it’s stunning:

Also featured in the photo above is the checkerboard floor and floral and moss wall installation that evoked the magical realism Alice in Wonderland is so famous for.

Everywhere around the shoot were mushrooms of all shapes and sizes. We thought this one was a perfect spot to hold our model’s Meg Jewelry earrings we styled her with:

The table décor by Nicole Mower Weddings & Events was the perfect compliment to the over-the-top dramatic floral designs of Bad Rabbit Flowers (Seriously- an Alice in Wonderland themed shoot with flowers by Bad Rabbit- you can’t make this stuff up!):

I mentioned earlier we were able to feature two bridal looks. The first was a set of Martina Liana separates- a black lace bodysuit and a textured ballgown skirt in nightfall:

The second was a delicate lace gown by L’Amour with bell sleeves, a plunging neckline and an open back. In other words SEXY:

A few more incredible details starting with the stationary suite by Garden Gate Lettering:

The antique tea set and brass tea cart borrowed from our photographer’s grandmother:

The incredible dessert table scape by Nicole Mower, Autumn Nomad and Bad Rabbit Flowers:

And of course, another of Autumn’s cakes- this one made to look like moss- along with the world’s cutest bunny:
