by ashley cunningham

Your big day is fast approaching and with so many months of planning you want everything to run as smoothly as possible! Feel like you're forgetting something? Don’t worry; we have got you covered! We have compiled a list of tips that seem small but will make a big difference on your day!

1. Pack Snacks!

Once you become a Mrs. The next step is formal pictures, which is often during cocktail hour. Your maids and men will most likely be starving at this point so having a few light snacks and water on hand will help keep everyone happy.

2. Do a practice run getting into your dress

At your final fitting have your maid of honor do a full run through of getting you into your gown, and bustling your dress. Those ribbons and buttons can be trickier than they look and you don’t want any glitches before you walk down the aisle.

3. Prepare tip envelopes

Create tip envelopes beforehand and designate one responsible member of your wedding party to hand out to your vendors at the end of the evening. A parent of the bride or groom is typically a great candidate.

4. Arrange transportation

Make sure there’s a plan in place to get you and your posse home after the festivities. We have heard stories of not being able to grab a cab in a busy city late at night. Don’t get stranded!

5. Pack for your honeymoon now

If you’re leaving shortly after you say “i-do”, then pack in advance! This tip will give you time to spend with your family/friends who may be in town or to just start relaxing! You did just plan a wedding and you deserve it!

6. Create a wedding party contact sheet

Create a list of contact info for all of the wedding party, key family members, and VIPS so if anyone is missing or running late they can be tracked down easily. You can also use this contact information to share timelines and schedule of events so everyone is on the same page. You can give this info to your wedding planner, day-of-coordinator, or your designated point of contact person for day of wedding.

7. Give yourself a deadline (that isn't your wedding!)

The most important piece of advice that we can give you is stop all wedding preparations by noon the day before your wedding. If a task is not done by that point it is not important and you should let it go. Make the day about pampering you and your partner and relaxing. Book a massage, get a mani/pedi, or chill with some family and friends...and that’s it. It's a great way to remember that your big day isn't about being perfect, it's about marrying the person that you love.
